Food Bank

Ariel Clinical Services Foster Parent Association runs two food bank groups - a Wednesday pickup group and a Saturday pickup group.  You may participate in either group as you choose, but you may not use both groups within the same month.  You may pay for your order by check or cash.  Any bounce checks will be assessed a 30 fee and you will not be allowed to order from the food bank until you have paid any bounced checks.

Volunteering with the Food Bank groups

We can always use volunteers.  Saturday food bank group needs volunteers for loading and unloading the truck.  Contact Val Tucker at velentynet@yahoo.com to find out if there are any volunteer needs for Wednesday food bank group.

Wednesday Food Bank

Wednesday food bank is the first Wednesday of the month, unless that first Wednesday is the 1st, then it is the second Wednesday.  Orders must be in by 7 pm on the Saturday before food bank.  Pick up time is noon.  For more information, please email Val Tucker at valentynet@yahoo.com.

Saturday Food Bank

Saturday food bank pickup is on a specific Saturday each month (determined by Food Bank of the Rockies) at 11:00 am.  We place our order online Wednesday evening the week of foodbank so that our order can be pulled in advance.  Orders should be submitted to acsfoodbank@yahoo.com by 7 pm on the Wednesday before foodbank.

The food bank list will be posted on the Food List page daily Mon-Wed the week of foodbank.  You will also find links to download the list in PDF format.  To open a PDF document, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can download for free at www.adobe.com The food bank list includes information such as item number, description, max number (number in inventory at the warehouse), price (total price for a case of the particular item), pack type (how many boxes at how many ounces each box, for example), and category (dry, refrigerated, etc.).  If you have questions, please call Mike Fee at 303-699-0496 after 5 pm.

When you submit your order, please include the item number, description, and quantity desired.  That way if you mistype the number we can still figure out what you intended.  If there is any confusion as to what you intended and we cannot get a hold of you, we will leave that item off, rather than order you something you didn't want.  You are allowed 150 lbs per foster or adopted child in the household.  Most items are 19ยข a pound or less, but purchased items (items bought by the foodbank rather than being donated) are more.  If the description says there is a limit (i.e. Limit 4), that is a limit for our agency.  If an item with an agency limit is in high demand, this is how those items will be distributed:

1) Any family ordering more than 1 of a limited item may have their quantity reduced to only 1 of that item.

2) Any limited items that are in higher demand than the limit (even after reducing all orders of the item to a quantity of 1) will be awarded to the families who submitted their orders first.

Please be aware that due to changing inventory status you may not receive all items that you order.  Your costs will be adjusted to remove any items you did not receive.

In order to help with expenses, we ask that anyone joining the Saturday foodbank group donate $15.00 with their first order.  In addition, there will be a monthly charge with each pickup to cover the cost of the truck rental.  This charge will vary by the number of families participating.  It is currently $6.25 per family.

The pickup site for Saturday food bank is the Loreal parking lot at 19503 E 34th Dr. (across the street from McLane Foods).  Use MapQuest or Google Maps to map directions (it is off Tower road just North of I-70).
